This is a humongous charcoal drawing of a close up of a screw. This projects uses value and is a type of illusion with how obscure it is. It is supposed to confuse the viewer to figure out what the object is, when it is truly an everyday object a person wouldn't normally focus on or think about. I had a lot of fun doing this project, even if it is not my favorite medium to use. I did learn how to use charcoal and how to make highlights in a charcoal drawing.
This is a two point perspective drawing. This project includes perspective as an art element. While drawing this I learned that when drawing two point perspective, things don't always come out as you see them. This is a Typography project, where a name, word or phrase is taken, and written/drawn in a new or interesting manner, reflecting what the word means to the person drawing it. I chose the name, Eggin, which is my nickname. I drew this in the shape of an egg being cracked open, and the name spilling out of the egg shells as the egg yolk and white. I used watercolour/tempra paints to paint this, and showed the elements of space and colour. While painting this, I learned that white and yellow really like to blend together, and hide against a white background. I still love this project, and am extremely proud of what I have accomplished. This is a tree made with shapes and colors from magazines. The greens and purples contrast from one another, with the reds. This project taught me not to be super conciensious about how I cut things out, and that not everything has to be perfect. This is a project that shows the illusion of motion through lines. By changing the thickness and how the line moves, it creates a 3 dimensional space. |
