This is my final macro x manmade project, done with watercolour on watercolour paper. In this painting I tried to paint Forget Me Nots with Change in the center, as a sort of "goodbye" for the year. I used colour and emphasis in this painting, and learned how to redraw or repaint something in a way to get the exact shape wanted. For me, this painting elicits a happy and joyous mood.

This is the third of my theme project, juxtapositioning the natural world with the 'unnatural'. It is done with watercolour on watercolour paper. I replaced the 'mouths' of the snapdragons with human mouths, the two most visible of which showing different expressions. (One angrier than the other). I was attempting to create a creepier atmostphere with this painting. This is the second piece in my theme projects, showing another comparison between the natural and unnatural world. This time I used a sunflower and a shiny button to replace the center. I attempted emphasis again, and learned how to use more texture in my painting. I was able to make the petals seem more velvety instead of shiny or wet. The button is also a completely different texture. This painting makes me feel happy, due to the brightness of the petals and background. This is a macro landscape and a manmade object, done with watercolour on watercolour paper. It shows a rose with a coffee cup replacing the center of it. Here I learned how to use emphasis. I was able to show the juxtaposition of the natural world with the 'unnatural' world. There is an obvious difference in presence, since it is white and brown against a deep red. These are four paintings put together to create a bigger scene. Each picture uses a different media, two of them being water colour, one being charcoal, and the last being pastels. I used balance for the four, separating the four pictures to bring them together. I learned how to use balance for the four, and I feel I could definitely improve on it. The four make me feel a little off-put, since it gets hard to see the whole picture. This is an abstract flower piece done with chalk on matte board. I used the inverted colours of the stem to make it purple instead of green, adding some extra variety. The flower seems to be exploding, giving off an angry or depressing feeling. Here, I learned how to use chalk in a more productive way. I was able to blend some colours instead of having harsh contrasts. This is a watercolour painting on thick paper. It shows a very fantasy-esque tree next to a dirty house. Here, I learned that I do not understand how to show light coming out of a window, or how to paint a building in general. This is definitely not my most favourite painting, and it could have done without the building. This may be remedied if I just painted a purely fantasy landscape instead of trying to juxtapose. This is a three point perspective drawing done with pencil on paper. While drawing this I learned how to draw in three-point perspective. The art element used is form and the design element is perspective. I tried my best to recreate the pole seen directly to the left of the person when you wall into the wildcat court. This was definitely a challenge. This is the masthead for this website, done with tempera paint on water colour paper. While painting this I learned how to fake drips but still make them look like the paint actually dripped. The art element used here would have to be Colour, and the design element would have to be either contrast or movement. The painting has the words drip into making the flower at the bottom, and the painting makes me happy to just look at it.
This is a moving lines drawing done with pencil on paper. In this drawing lines were curved, made thicker or thinner, and were carefully drawn on the page to create a "moving" or more three-dimensional drawing. The main art element is line, and the main design element is movement. To me, this drawing gives off a feeling of freedom and fluidity. These types of drawings are harder for me to do because it is hard for me to manipulate the lines in a way that actually shows space.
